Travelling alone costs more per person than sharing, and the single supplement is the reason. The deals here come from hotels and operators that either waive it or keep it small, and from resorts with enough of a social programme that eating alone is a choice rather than a sentence.

Questions people ask about Solo

What is a single supplement?
The extra charged when one person occupies a room priced for two. It varies by hotel and season, and some operators drop it entirely on selected dates.
Will I be eating alone every night?
Not at resorts with a solo programme or shared tables. Larger all-inclusive hotels are generally easier for this than small boutique properties.
Is solo travel more expensive overall?
Per person, usually yes, because the room cost is not shared. Shoulder-season dates and no-supplement offers close most of the gap.
